Capacity Building Program

The OAFB Capacity Building Program provides food banks in Ontario with funding to grow their capacity to accept, store, and distribute fresh food to adults and children living with hunger.

Proudly supported since 2018 by:

Whole Foods Market

About the Program

Many food banks have used this funding to replace old refrigerators with new, energy efficient units, increase storage for fresh food items, or purchase refrigerated trucking/transport to help deliver fresh food throughout the community.

Over 60% of the food distributed by the Ontario Association of Food Banks is fresh or frozen, making this grant an important program for building the capacity of the network, and increasing our collective ability to provide healthy, balanced meals and food options to the families we serve.
