Partnership Programs & Projects

The GreenBox Program
The GreenBox program is a partnership between OAFB and Friends of the Earth Canada (FOE) which includes the distribution of thousands of energy efficiency "Greenbox" kits to those served by food banks in Ontario. The first round of the program occurred in winter 2006, with the distribution of 20,000 kits including energy efficient light bulbs, window seals, insulation, and energy efficiency tips for households.  This program has continued in 2007 and 2008, with the support of the Government of Ontario, Enbridge Gas Distribution, the Ontairo Power Authority (OPA), Project Porchlight, and Union Gas.

Local Partnership Projects
The OAFB is currently exploring the feasibility of local poverty reduction projects in Hamilton and Sandy Lake First Nation with member partners in each region.

Social Investment Exchange (SIX)
The OAFB engages in extensive work to reduce hunger through programs, policy and projects. This year, the OAFB is engaged in the development of a Social Investment Exchange by completing a Feasibility Study, and connecting with the development of social investment exchanges across the globe.
