Metro Food Drive
![]()
Beginning in 2009, the OAFB and Metro stores across the province launched two new annual food drives during the fall and winter in 150 locations to support local food banks.
When visiting Metro stores, shoppers are encouraged to purchase nutritious foods to donate to their local food bank. Most needed foods at food banks include: hearty stews, pasta, pasta sauce, canned tuna, canned ham, rice, baby food, lentils, peanut butter, canned fruits, and canned vegetables.
With the support of their customers, the Metro Food Drives have the potential to raise close to 1,000,000 pounds of food per year for community food banks and our neighbours facing hunger across Ontario.
